About the Course

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of entry-level Business Services job roles.

This qualification also reflects the role of individuals who have not yet entered the workforce, and are developing the necessary skills in preparation for work.

 

These individuals carry out a range of basic procedural, clerical, administrative or operational tasks that require self-management and technology skills. They perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context. Individuals in these roles generally work under direct supervision

The program is self paced with training being in a workplace delivery environment or other flexible learning environment.  The program has rolling enrolments which means you can start any time.

We have identified a number of support services for students who have special needs, or require additional support and assistance to undertake or complete their learning. Please discuss any concerns you may have with your enrolment officer or trainer assessor.

Career Outcomes

​Occupations relevant to this qualification are available in a variety of industry sectors such as Business Administration, Local Government Administration and Government Service Delivery including:

  • Administration assistant

  • Office supervisor

  • Data entry operator

  • Information desk clerk

  • Receptionist

Eligibility and Funding

  • Available as a school-based traineeship

  • There are no formal entry requirements, however, to study this qualification with ATC Work Smart you will need: 

    • A good understanding of written, verbal and spoken English. Prior to enrolment Students LLN levels will be assessed to determine suitability

  • Course duration – 12 to 18 months

  • Total number of units required – ten (10) units

  • Secondary school students are exempt from course and resource fees if they:

    • are enrolled at school, as defined in the School Education Act 1999; and

    • are undertaking a VET course.

The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as student service and resource fees.
