Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

This traineeship set you up as an Educator in early childhood education and care. Educators work in regulated children’s education services in Australia including day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.

 

The traineeship will give you the confidence to support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. You will learn a wide range of skills and knowledge to enable you to use discretion and judgment when carrying out your work utilising policies and procedures.

 

You will be working one day per week in a childcare facility whilst studying Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and attending school 4 days per week.

Early Childhood Educators:

• assist in the preparation of materials and equipment for children's education and recreational activities

• manage children's behaviour and guide children's social development

• prepare and conduct activities for children

• entertain children by reading and playing games

• supervise children in recreational activities

• supervise the daily routine of children

• supervise the hygiene of children.
