Aged Care

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of older people.

Support older people to live with dignity, comfort and independence. You’ll provide personal and practical care, from everyday tasks and outings to companionship and support that enhances quality of life.

Disability

Help people build confidence, independence and connection.

Support people with disability to develop everyday skills, achieve their personal goals and participate in their homes and communities. You’ll provide practical support while helping people build independence, confidence and meaningful connections.

Course Highlights

As part of this course, you will engage in:

17 weeks of classroom training combining theory and hands-on practical activities.
2 days per week of structured learning, plus additional study workshops.
6 weeks of organised local work placement (120 hours) to gain real experience.
Training with up-to-date equipment, including hoists, beds, and wheelchairs.
Access to all required learning resources, supplied by ATC Work Smart.

Training and assessment for this course is conducted face to face including direct observation.

Students are required to complete structured assessments and knowledge questions for each unit of competency.

Workplace assessment includes completion of a Training and Attendance Record by your workplace supervisor. You are required to complete 120 hours of work placement which we organise for you.

Student Support and Well-being Services

We have identified a number of support services for students who have special needs, or require additional support and assistance to undertake or complete their learning. Please discuss any concerns you may have with your enrolment officer or trainer assessor.

The following learning resources will be available to ensure learners are able to obtain and absorb the required skills and knowledge required prior to assessment: • Learner guides (electronic copy, hard copy available for class use) • Assessment book • Access to online learning system • Training Record / Assessor Observations.

There are no formal entry requirements, however, to study this qualification with ATC Work Smart you will need a good understanding of written, verbal and spoken English. Prior to enrolment students LLN levels will be assessed to determine suitability.

Students must be over 18 years of age to conduct practical placement.
Flu vaccination will be required and Covid-19 vaccination record.
A national police clearance and NDIS workers screening check prior to commencing practical placement.

Course fee: $3,600

Pay in full upfront and receive a 10% discount ($3,240 total)
Or use a payment plan: $400 due at enrolment, then 11 fortnightly payments of $291.00

This intake is offered on a fee-for-service basis. All students, including visa holders, must have the legal right to study in Australia and meet any relevant visa conditions. Eligibility is confirmed during enrolment, including a visa check where required. While the same study rights and visa requirements apply, some visa holders may be able to access this course at lower fees than are typically charged for non-subsidised training.
