You'll learn how to make a real difference in peoples lives by promoting independence and supporting your clients by providing individualised support. This traineeship will teach you the skills to operate effectively as a Support Worker or Assistant in Nursing in a variety of settings and can be school-based, part-time or full-time.

Disability Support Worker

  • No two days are the same, one day you may be supporting your client to cook a healthy meal, you might be at the cinema or going swimming, sometimes you might just hang out with your client at home.

  • You will support individuals with a disability to achieve goals, have fun, and combat isolation and boredom.

  • Disability support workers promote independence and support their clients to become more self-reliant and build confidence in themselves.

Aged Care Worker

  • You maybe working in a residential home, retirement home, respite centre or visiting a client in their own home. An aged care worker provides personal, physical and emotional support to older people who require assistance with daily living.

  • They provide assistance with daily tasks such as showering, dressing, shopping, preparing food, and often assist with outings and social activities. 

  • Aged Care Workers carry out their duties under direct or regular supervision within clearly defined care plans or organisational guidelines.
