Low Voltage Rescue

THE CPR/LVR COURSE

This course equips you with the essential knowledge and practical skills to:
​

  • Maintain breathing and circulation in adults, children, and infants following cardiac arrest.

  • Safely perform rescue procedures from live low voltage (LV) apparatus.

If you’re working as a safety observer for energised electrical work, it’s an industry requirement that you are reassessed every 12 months to remain current in rescue and resuscitation skills.​
​

Here's what you need to know:

To complete the course, you'll need:

  • To demonstrate at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted practical demonstration of CPR on an adult manikin on the floor.

  • The physical ability of performing a rescue from a live LV panel using appropriate rescue equipment, including moving a manikin.

Assessment Information

This course is delivered face-to-face.

If you are new to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), we recommend choosing the blended learning option, which includes:

  • 3 hours of self-paced study to be completed before your face-to-face session.

  • A pre-course study kit, provided upon enrolment, to guide and support your learning.

The assessment for this course includes three components:

  1. Practical Observation

    You will be required to demonstrate the correct procedures for:

    • Adult CPR

    • Infant CPR

    • Preparing to perform rescue procedures from a live LV panel

    • Carrying out a rescue from a live LV panel

    • Completing the live LV panel rescue procedure

  2. Structured Activity

    You will complete an incident report based on a given scenario.

  3. Knowledge Quiz

    You must answer all questions correctly to demonstrate your understanding of the course content.
